Located in the heart of the City of Barre, Vermont, Central Vermont Career Center has served students from the greater Barre community for over 50 years. Throughout the years, alumni and community members have generously provided lifetime and legacy donations to support the post-secondary education and career goals of our graduates.

American Legion Auxiliary Barre Unit 10 - This scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to a student who is going to attend an institution of higher education. The eligible student must be a descendant of a member of the American Legion Family which includes American Legion Barre Post 10, American Legion Auxiliary Barre Unit 10, Sons of the American Legion Barre Squadron 10, and American Legion Barre Chapter 10. Descendants include children, step children, grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. Bar Harbor Bank and Trust - Graduating high school seniors who meet the eligibility requirements outlined on page two of the application are eligible to apply for a Bar Harbor Bank & Trust $1,000 Career Technology Education Scholarship. The four categories of eligibility include that the applicant (1) graduates from a listed vocational/technical high school, (2) maintains residency in a listed county, (3) does not exceed the maximum annual family income limit, and (4) plans to attend a college or technical school following high school graduation. The Barre Fish and Game Club (BFGC) - BFGC established a scholarship fund to support local youth who intend to pursue a degree in the field of wildlife conservation. Up to $1,500 in scholarship funds will be awarded to one or more worthy applicants. Students interested in applying should check out the flyer to learn more on how to apply. Applications must be received by March 31, 2024.


Betty Cutler Memorial Scholarship - Contest open to a graduating Senior from Central Vermont Career Center or Randolph Technical Career Center. Must be entering a trades occupation. Email essay as attachment with student’s name, address, phone number and school in the body of the email to barreelks@gmail.com.


CVMC Health Care Scholarship - Central Vermont Medical Center is once again pleased to offer the 2024 CVMC Health Care Scholarship for study in the medical field. Eight (8) graduating high school students/adult learners who plan to pursue a career in health care will be selected for a $2,500 one-time scholarship. Complete applications must be emailed or postmarked no later than April 30, 2024.


Doctor Richard F. Parnigoni Scholarship - This essay contest is open to graduating Seniors from Montpelier High School, Northfield High School, Spaulding High School, Twinfield Union High School, U-32, Websterville Christian Academy and Williamstown High School. There are four $1,000 dollar scholarships available. Students must write an essay on "How will your education/skills impact your community? Completed essays must be emailed by April 15, 2024.

Horatio Alger CTE Scholarship- For students who will be in a CTE program this fall and have completed high school (or earned high school equivalency credential) by July 1. Open to ages 18-35.  Student must exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete an associate’s degree, certificate, or diploma program
that will lead to employment.  There are 500 $2,500 scholarships up for grabs. Complete applications must be submitted by June 15, 2024.


Robert A Lafountain III Scholarship - This scholarship recognizes a U32 student for achievement in technical education and athletics. $500 will support the pursuit of professional credentials in the field of construction. Complete applications must be submitted by April 30, 2024. 


Sons of the American Legion Dennis Comai Scholarship - Any student who is planning to attend a trade school or technical college and whose grandfather, grandmother, step grandparents, father, step father, mother, step mother, adopted parents or grandparents and brothers or sisters are a member of the American Legion Family (American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion) are welcome to apply for this scholarship. Complete applications must be submitted by April 15, 2024.


Lonny Wade Memorial Scholarship - Student must maintain a proficient grade with a recommendation letter from their teacher. Also, a letter from the student stating their course of study and a brief explanation about themselves and their future intentions and a copy of their acceptance letter. Trades eligible for scholarship: Plumbing, heating, Electrician, Building, concrete, roofing, surveying, carpentry, welding, heavy equipment, HVAC, engineering, forestry and natural resources, law enforcement, public safety, emergency services, fire services and automotive. Completed applications are due May 15, 2024.
