Design and Fabrication: Stone Trades

What We Do

CVCC, in partnership with the Vermont Granite Museum, has established a unique program introducing students to the traditional methods of stone sculpting and contemporary methods in design and fabrication. While studying at the Vermont Granite Museum, students create using various materials in both 2D and 3D forms. Designs are generated by hand and with computer software, including 3D scanning and printing technologies, casting, molding, and carving a variety of material types.  Students are introduced to the lettering, design, and fabrication of memorial and monumental art and introduced to advanced manufacturing methods including CNC (Computerized Numerical Control), CAD (Computer-Aided Design), and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) processes.
